Cerkov Sv. Pervoverhovnyh apostolov Petra i Pavla

Built in 1146, this is one of three surviving pre-Mongol churches in Smolensk. It showcases the 12th-century Smolensk school of architecture with its simple brick masonry and single-domed structure.

Cerkov Svatogo apostola Ioanna Bogoslova

A pre-Mongol church commissioned by Prince Roman Rostislavich in 1173. While modified in the 18th century, it remains a rare example of early medieval Russian architecture located along the Dnieper River.

Bogoavlenskij sobor

This 18th-century Baroque cathedral sits on Cathedral Hill. Built between 1782 and 1787, it serves as the winter cathedral of the Smolensk diocese, located adjacent to the larger Dormition Cathedral.

Voznesenskij monastyr

Founded in the 17th century, the monastery features the Ascension Cathedral, built in the 1690s by order of Peter the Great. It is a notable example of Naryshkin Baroque architecture.

Troickij monastyr

Established in the 17th century, this complex includes the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity (1672–1675) and a distinctive bell tower, reflecting late 17th-century Russian Orthodox design.

Avraamiev monastyr

Founded in the early 13th century by St. Abraham of Smolensk, this monastery was once a major center of learning. The current Transfiguration Cathedral was built in 1755 in the Baroque style.

Cerkov Arhangela Mihaila

Also known as the Svirskaya Church, this 12th-century monument is famous for its soaring vertical proportions and complex silhouette, representing the peak of pre-Mongol Smolensk architecture.

Cerkov Svatogo Nikolaa Cudotvorca (Niznaa)

Built in 1748, this Baroque-style church replaced an earlier wooden structure. It is located near the Dnieper River and features traditional 18th-century ecclesiastical design.
