Alpine Huts and Views
Upper Austria’s alpine landscape features a mix of high-altitude viewing platforms and traditional mountain huts. This list includes the iconic 5 Fingers platform on Mount Krippenstein and the Dachstein Glacier’s Stairway to Nothingness. Hikers can find refuge at Alpine Club huts like the Adamekhütte, situated at 2,196 meters, or the Prielschutzhaus in the Totes Gebirge. These locations offer access to the region's prominent peaks, including the Hoher Dachstein and Warscheneck, alongside historical observation towers like the one at Lichtenberg.

B 5 Fingers
5 Fingers is a free viewing platform in the Dachstein Mountains of Upper Austria, on Mount Krippenstein.
C Skywalk
Observation platform at the Dachstein Glacier mountain station. It features a glass floor section and overlooks the 250-meter vertical drop of the Hunerkogel rock face.
D Hoher Dachstein
Hoher Dachstein is a strongly karstic mountain in central Austria and the second-highest mountain in the Northern Limestone Alps.
E Aussichtswarte Lichtenberg
A 24-meter-high wooden observation tower on the Lichtenberg mountain. It provides views of the Attersee and the surrounding Salzkammergut region.
F Adamekhütte
Austrian Alpine Club hut located at 2,196 meters at the foot of the Gosau Glacier. It serves as a base for climbing the Hoher Dachstein.
G Anton-Schosser-Hütte
Mountain hut situated on the Hohe Dirn at 1,158 meters, managed by the Austrian Alpine Club.
H Warscheneck
Warscheneck is a mountain of the Totes Gebirge in the Eastern Alps, in Upper Austria.
Prielschutzhaus
Alpine hut at 1,420 meters in the Totes Gebirge. It is the primary starting point for ascending the Großer Priel peak.
Hochleckenhaus
Refuge on the western plateau of the Höllengebirge mountains at an altitude of 1,574 meters.
Bosruckhütte
Category II mountain hut located at 1,042 meters at the foot of the Bosruck.
