Vágar contains some of the Faroe Islands' most recognizable natural landmarks. The island is defined by Sørvágsvatn, a lake that appears to hover above the Atlantic Ocean, and the 30-meter Múlafossur waterfall which drops directly into the sea from the village of Gásadalur.
