Iconic Peaks of the Prokletije

The Prokletije, or Accursed Mountains, form the southernmost part of the Dinaric Alps, characterized by dramatic limestone karst formations and glacial landscapes. This selection features the range's most prominent summits accessible from the Valbona Valley. It includes Maja e Jezercës, the highest peak in the entire Dinaric chain at 2,694 meters, alongside the Kolata massif, which contains the highest point in Montenegro. These peaks define the rugged international border between Albania and Montenegro, offering steep ridges and high-altitude glacial topography.

Accursed Mountains

The Accursed Mountains, also known as the Albanian Alps, is a mountain range in coastal Southeast Europe adjected to the Adriatic Sea.

Zla Kolata / Kollate e Keqe

Standing at 2,534 meters, this summit is the highest peak in Montenegro. It is part of the Kolata massif on the border with Albania, featuring steep limestone cliffs and views over the Valbona Valley.
