Alpine Cable Cars and Lifts
This collection features the primary mountain transport systems across Vorarlberg and the Arlberg region. It includes the Pfänderbahn overlooking Lake Constance, the high-altitude Lünerseebahn in the Rätikon mountains, and the Vallugabahn, which reaches 2,811 meters. These lifts provide access to extensive hiking networks, ski resorts like Lech-Zürs and Silvretta Montafon, and unique vantage points such as the Karren's panoramic platform. Many stations are wheelchair accessible and serve as gateways to alpine reservoirs and cross-border trails.
Pfänderbahn Bergstation
Located at 1,064 meters on the Pfänder mountain, this station offers views of Lake Constance and the Alps. It features an Alpine Wildlife Park and a mountain restaurant.
Lünerseebahn Talstation
Valley station situated at the end of the Brandnertal. It serves as the starting point for the ascent to the Lünersee, one of the largest natural mountain lakes in the Alps.
Pfänderbahn
A large-cabin cable car connecting Bregenz to the Pfänder mountain. It ascends 600 vertical meters in approximately six minutes, operating since 1927.
Rüfikopfbahnen Talstation
Located in the center of Lech, this station provides access to the Rüfikopf at 2,350 meters, a key link in the White Ring ski circuit.
Malbun
Mountain transport hub in the Malbun valley, providing access to the Sareis chairlift and the high-altitude hiking trails of the Liechtenstein Alps.
F Karrenseilbahn
Aerial tramway in Dornbirn ascending to 976 meters. The mountain station features a 12-meter cantilevered panoramic platform and a glass-walled restaurant.
G Kanzelwandbahn
Built in 1954, this cable car connects Riezlern in the Kleinwalsertal to the Kanzelwand area, facilitating cross-border skiing and hiking between Austria and Germany.
H Muttersbergbahn
An 8-seater gondola lifting passengers from Bludenz-Nüziders to the Muttersberg plateau at 1,401 meters. It is known for its sunny, south-facing location.
I Kristbergbahn
Gondola in the Silbertal leading to the Kristberg, a historic mining region. It provides access to the Silbertaler Waldschule and high-altitude moorlands.
J Lünerseebahn
A shuttle cable car connecting the valley station to the dam of the Lünersee at 1,970 meters, primarily used by hikers and anglers.
K Walmendingerhornbahn
Located in Mittelberg, this lift reaches 1,946 meters. The mountain station features a wind-protected observation deck and an elevator for barrier-free access.
L Mellaubahn
A 10-person gondola lift connecting the village of Mellau to the Rossstelle alpine area within the Damüls-Mellau ski and hiking region.
M Vallugabahn I
The first section of the aerial tramway from Galzig to the Vallugagrat at 2,647 meters. It is a critical link in the Arlberg mountain transport network.
N Vallugabahn II
A smaller cabin cable car running from Vallugagrat to the summit of Valluga at 2,811 meters, offering views over the Lechtal Alps.
O Seilbahn Bezau
Modern pendulum cable car in the Bregenzerwald. It travels from Bezau to the Baumgarten station, which features distinctive modern wooden architecture.
P Palüdbahn
Gondola lift at the head of the Brandnertal, providing access to the Palüd plateau and connecting to the main Brand ski area.
Q Roßstelle
An 8-seater detachable chairlift in Mellau equipped with weather protection bubbles, serving the central hub of the Damüls-Mellau resort.
R Valfagehrbahn
High-speed 6-seater chairlift with heated seats and orange weather bubbles, connecting Alpe Rauz to the Pfannenkopf area in the Arlberg.
S Tafamuntbahn
