Camping and Recreation Spots

Yoho National Park’s camping options range from accessible front-country sites like Kicking Horse to remote backcountry locations along the Iceline and Rockwall trails. These sites provide direct access to the 254-meter Takakkaw Falls, the limestone formations of Hoodoo Creek, and the restricted Lake O’Hara region, which requires advanced bus reservations. The area features a mix of serviced campgrounds with showers and primitive wilderness sites equipped with bear lockers.

Kicking Horse Campground

The park's largest campground, offering flush toilets, hot showers, and a sani-dump. It is located near the village of Field along the Kicking Horse River.

Basic, unserviced campground operating on a first-come, first-served basis. It is located near the base of Mount Stephen.

Takakkaw Falls Campground

A walk-in campground located 300 meters from the base of Takakkaw Falls, featuring food lockers and a central fire pit.

High-demand wilderness campground accessible via a pre-booked shuttle bus. Features 30 sites, food storage, and proximity to alpine hiking trails.
