Alpine Peaks & Glaciers

This collection features the core mountaineering landmarks of the Ala-Archa National Park within the Tien Shan range. Centered around the Ak-Sai glacier, the list includes the highest point of the Kyrgyz Range, Pik Semenova-Tan-Sanskogo, and the technical north faces of Svobodnaya Korea. These sites are supported by a network of high-altitude stone huts, including Ratsek Hut at 3,300 meters, which serves as the primary base for technical ascents and glacier trekking in the region.

Ratcek Hut

Stone base camp located at 3,300 meters. Named after Soviet mountaineer Vladimir Ratsek, it serves as the central hub for expeditions to the Ak-Sai glacier and surrounding peaks.

Korona Hut

High-altitude refuge situated at approximately 3,900 meters. It provides shelter for climbers attempting the towers of Korona Peak and the upper reaches of the Ak-Sai glacier.

Nauka

Small mountaineering shelter located near the Ak-Sai glacier, used as a secondary base for technical ice and rock climbing routes.

Pik Semenova-Tan-Sanskogo

The highest summit of the Kyrgyz Range, reaching 4,895 meters. It is named after the 19th-century explorer Pyotr Semyonov-Tyan-Shansky.

Svobodnaa Korea

A 4,740-meter peak renowned for its 800-meter north face. It is one of the most significant technical climbing destinations in the Tien Shan mountains.

Korona

A 4,860-meter peak characterized by six distinct granite towers. It offers various technical routes ranging from snow slopes to vertical rock walls.

Aksai glacier

The primary glacier in the Ala-Archa gorge, surrounded by several 4,000-meter peaks. It is the main access route for the region's technical climbing sectors.

Golubin's glacier

A large valley glacier situated in the upper Ala-Archa basin, contributing significantly to the region's glacial runoff.

Bolsoj Ala-Arcinskij

One of the largest glaciers in the central Kyrgyz Range, forming the headwaters of the Ala-Archa River.

Uchitel (Teacher) glacier

Glacier located at the base of Peak Uchitel, frequently used for alpine training and ice climbing practice due to its proximity to Ratsek Hut.
