Argentina's Coastal Escapes

Argentina's coastline spans from the bustling urban beaches of Mar del Plata to the remote shores of Patagonia. This selection includes the iconic Playa Bristol and the sheltered bay of Playa Varese, alongside maritime landmarks like the Faro Segunda Barranca and the cliffside Faro Cabo Peñas. Further south, the city of Río Gallegos occupies a significant Patagonian bay, while the Bicentennial Lighthouse provides a modern architectural monument in the interior.

Playa Bristol

The Playa Bristol is a beach in Mar del Plata, Argentina, named after the Bristol Hotel.

Playa Varese

A sheltered, bay-shaped beach in Mar del Plata protected by two stone breakwaters, which provide calmer waters for swimming compared to neighboring Atlantic shores.

Bicentennial Lighthouse

The Bicentennial Lighthouse or Faro del Bicentenario is a lighthouse-like monument located in Sarmiento Park, Córdoba, Argentina.

Faro Segunda Barranca

An active, inhabited lighthouse operated by the Argentine Navy. The 34-meter masonry tower features black and white horizontal bands and serves as a navigational aid along the coast.
