Religious Heritage of Białowieża

Białowieża’s religious landscape is defined by its historic Orthodox and Roman Catholic structures. The collection includes the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, known for its unique porcelain iconostasis, and the brick-built St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church. Smaller sites, such as the cemetery church of Saints Cyril and Methodius and the St. Alexander Nevsky chapel, reflect the region's deep spiritual roots and traditional architecture typical of the Podlasie borderlands.
