Rhodope Hidden Gems

The Western Rhodopes near Devin and the Trigrad Gorge offer a dense concentration of natural and historical landmarks. This selection features the Devil's Throat Cave, home to one of Europe's highest underground waterfalls, and the Haramyiska Cave, known for Neolithic archaeological finds. The region is also defined by the Struilitsa eco-trail, which connects the high Samodivsko Prskalo and Bear waterfalls with the medieval defensive ruins of the Kaleto and Beadnos fortresses dating back to the 11th–14th centuries.
