Cultural & Academic Hubs

East Azerbaijan serves as a primary center for education and historical preservation in Iran. This collection highlights the region's intellectual landscape through major institutions like Sahand University of Technology and Shahid Madani University. Complementing these academic hubs are specialized cultural sites, including the Ilkhanid Museum in Maragheh, which houses artifacts from the 13th-century Mongol dynasty, and the Maragheh Fossil Site, recognized globally for its prehistoric remains. From the religious history at Saint Stepanos to the industrial heritage of the Tabriz Match Museum, these locations showcase the province's diverse scientific and artistic contributions.
