Stunning Flores Viewpoints

Flores Island's rugged topography offers diverse vantage points, from the 914-meter summit of Morro Alto to coastal lookouts like Rocha dos Bordões, a vertical basalt formation. These sites overlook the island's seven volcanic calderas, including the twin lakes of Caldeira Rasa and Caldeira Funda, and the traditional coastal villages of Fajãzinha and Ponta Delgada. Several points, such as Vigia da Baleia, retain historical significance as former maritime observation posts for the whaling industry.
