Alpine Huts and Shelters

Ortstockhaus
A heritage-listed building designed by architect Hans Leuzinger in 1927. This mountain restaurant and lodge is known for its unique rounded architecture and location at the foot of the Ortstock.
Leglerhütte
Modernized Swiss Alpine Club hut situated at 2,273 meters. It serves as a central hub for hikers on the Wildmadfurggeli trail and offers views across the Glarus Alps.
Berggasthaus Gumen
Mountain guesthouse located at 1,901 meters, accessible by cable car from Braunwald. It serves as the primary base for the Braunwald via ferrata climbing routes.
Martinsmadhütte
A Swiss Alpine Club hut at 2,002 meters near the Elm-Panix trail. It provides access to the climbing routes of the Zwölferhorn and the Martinsloch natural rock window.
Bifertenhütte
Operated by the Academic Alpine Club Basel, this hut is located at 2,482 meters on the high plateau of the Brigelser Hörner.
Kletterhütte Bockmattli
A climbing-focused hut in the Wägital region, situated at the base of the Bockmattli towers, which are renowned for their steep limestone climbing walls.
Skihütte Obererbs
Mountain lodge located at 1,700 meters above Elm. It is accessible by car during the summer months and serves as a starting point for the Richetli Pass hike.
Kistenpasshütte

A former military bunker converted into a lodge at 2,627 meters on the Segnes Pass, located within the UNESCO Tectonic Arena Sardona.
Naturfreundehaus Mettmen
Guesthouse at 1,610 meters in the Freiberg Kärpf, Europe's oldest game reserve. It is located near the Mettmen reservoir and accessible by cable car.
