Historic Ruins & Windmills

Guadeloupe's landscape is dotted with remnants of its colonial past, from the stone windmills of Marie-Galante to the coastal fortifications of the Saintes. This collection features the ruins of the Petit Canal prison, the industrial heritage of the Murat and Bézard mills, and the 18th-century Sucrerie Roussel-Trianon. These sites provide insight into the island's sugar production history and military defenses, including battery ruins and pottery works that once fueled the regional economy.
