Lakes and Waterfalls

The Los Lagos region features a diverse collection of aquatic landmarks, including the glacial-fed Llanquihue Lake, Chile's second-largest inland body of water. The area is defined by the emerald-colored Todos los Santos Lake and the Saltos de Petrohué, where water cascades over ancient basaltic lava flows. Thermal activity is prominent at the Puyehue and El Amarillo hot springs, while the Humedal de Quinchao provides a vital habitat for migratory birds. High-altitude features include the Ventisquero Negro glacier on Mount Tronador and the fjord-like Yelcho Lake in southern Palena.
