Religious Heritage

Mahé’s religious landscape reflects its diverse cultural history, blending colonial architecture with vibrant Eastern traditions. The capital, Victoria, houses the ornate Sri Navasakthi Vinayagar Hindu temple alongside the twin spires of the Cathédrale de l'Immaculée Conception and the Anglican St. Paul's Cathedral. Beyond the city, the island's coastline is dotted with Catholic stone churches, such as St. Francis D'Assise, and hidden spiritual sites like the Grotte de Lourdes, a mountainside shrine carved into the granite landscape.
