Lakes and Nature
Mora’s landscape is defined by the convergence of major waterways and glacial formations. Orsa Lake connects to Lake Siljan via the four-kilometer Moranoret sound, forming a significant part of Dalarna's aquatic geography. The region features diverse water bodies, including the 34.2 km² Venjanssjön and smaller lakes like Umsisjön, which belongs to the Dalälven drainage basin. Natural sandy shores like Lillsanden and Skeppshusviken serve as established swimming areas along these freshwater systems.
