Safari Camps & Campsites

This collection features essential accommodation within the Moremi Game Reserve and the adjacent Khwai Community Concession. It includes public campsites managed by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks, such as South Gate and North Gate, alongside private luxury tented camps like Xigera and Sango. These locations provide access to the Okavango Delta’s diverse ecosystems, ranging from the permanent lagoons of Xakanaxa to the riverine forests along the Khwai River, known for high predator density.

Xakanaxa Camp Site

Located on the shores of the Xakanaxa Lagoon within Moremi Game Reserve. Features basic ablution blocks with showers and toilets. Suitable for self-drive travelers with ground tents or off-road caravans.

Magotho Campsite

Situated along the Khwai River within the Khwai Community Concession. Offers rustic, unfenced camping under large camelthorn trees. No permanent facilities; travelers must be fully self-sufficient.

Khwai Tented Camp

Located on the border of the Moremi Game Reserve. Features large walk-in tents with en-suite bathrooms and views over the Khwai River floodplains.

South Gate Campsite

Positioned at the Maun entrance to Moremi Game Reserve. Serves as a central base for exploring the park’s southern tracks. Includes communal ablution facilities and designated fire pits.

Third Bridge Campground

Located on the western side of Moremi Game Reserve near the Moanachira River. Features standpipe water, ablution blocks, and proximity to boat launch sites for Delta excursions.

Campiste North Gate

Located at the Khwai River bridge entrance to Moremi. Offers shaded sites under riverine trees and modern ablution facilities. Provides direct access to the Khwai floodplains.

Sango Safari Camp

Situated on the banks of the Khwai River. Features Meru-style tents styled after 1920s safari camps. Offers game drives and mokoro excursions.

Xigera Safari Camp

A high-end lodge located on Paradise Island in the Okavango Delta. Focuses on water-based activities and features unique architecture inspired by the surrounding wetlands.
