Ore Mountains Viewpoints and Peaks

The Ore Mountains, straddling the border of Germany and the Czech Republic, feature a diverse range of vantage points. This selection includes the 1,244-meter Klínovec, the range's highest peak, and the granite-gneiss formations of Greifensteine. Visitors can explore historic stone towers like the Auersbergturm and modern structures such as the Cibulka observation tower. Auersbergturm

This 18-meter-high stone tower, built in 1860, is the oldest observation tower in the Ore Mountains. Located atop the 1,018-meter Auersberg, it offers views of the Eibenstock dam and the Fichtelberg.

Greifensteine

The Greifensteine is a rock tower in the Ore Mountains, Germany, between the towns of Geyer, Ehrenfriedersdorf and Jahnsbach.

MSSR Auersberg

A Monopulse Secondary Surveillance Radar (MSSR) used for air traffic control. Operating in the D-band, this technical tower is part of the regional aviation safety infrastructure near the Auersberg peak.

Eisernes Kreuz

A war memorial located in Obernaundorf, Rabenau. The site serves as a viewpoint overlooking the surrounding Saxon landscape and the Eastern Ore Mountains.

Aussichtsturm Drei-Brüder-Höhe

A 25-meter-high steel lattice tower located near Marienberg. Built in 1994 on a site with a long tradition of observation, it provides 360-degree views of the central Ore Mountains ridge.
