Vlorë is the historic site of Albania's 1912 declaration of independence, a legacy preserved in its central monuments and museums. The city features significant Ottoman architecture, such as the 16th-century Muradie Mosque, alongside Roman-era ruins and traditional ethnographic displays. Located where the Adriatic and Ionian seas meet, the area also encompasses the shallow sandy shores of the Bay of Vlorë and the rugged landscape of the surrounding hills.
