Alexandria's archaeological landscape showcases the city's Graeco-Roman heritage through diverse burial sites and monuments. Key locations include the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, a subterranean labyrinth blending Egyptian and Roman funerary art, and the 27-meter-tall Pompey's Pillar. The collection also features the Ptolemaic-era Chatby and Mustafa Kamel necropolises, the well-preserved Roman amphitheater at Kom El Deka, and Kom Al-Nadura, an archaeological mound that served as a strategic lookout and Napoleonic fort.
