The Balearic Islands feature a diverse network of historic watchtowers, coastal cliffs, and elevated religious sites. From the 16th-century Torre del Verger to the British-built Torre de Fornells, many of these locations originally served as defensive fortifications against maritime threats. Mirador des Colomer

Located on the Formentor peninsula, this 200-meter high lookout offers views of vertical limestone cliffs and the islet of El Colomer. The site features stone pathways and stairs designed by architect Joan Rubió i Bellver in 1961.

Mirador de na Foradada

This lookout provides views of a prominent rock peninsula featuring a natural 18-meter diameter hole. It overlooks the Mediterranean and the historic Son Marroig estate, once the residence of Archduke Ludwig Salvator.

Torre del Verger

Constructed in 1579, this defensive watchtower sits on a cliff edge near Banyalbufar. It was part of a coastal warning system built to protect Mallorca from pirate raids and remains one of the island's oldest towers.
