Historic Heritage Sites

Pointe-à-Pitre’s urban landscape showcases a blend of 19th-century colonial architecture and industrial history. This collection features the iron-framed Marché Central, the neoclassical St. Pierre and Paul Church, and the remnants of the Darboussier sugar factory, once the largest in the Lesser Antilles. Maison natale de Saint-John-Perse

The 19th-century birthplace of Nobel Prize-winning poet Alexis Leger, known as Saint-John Perse. The residence is a preserved example of colonial urban architecture on Rue Achille-René-Boisneuf.
