Al Farafra Oasis Essentials

Al Farafra Oasis is defined by the White Desert National Park, characterized by wind-eroded chalk formations and prehistoric marine fossils. The region’s cultural history is preserved in the mud-brick Badr Museum, which showcases local Farafra art. Geological highlights include Crystal Mountain, a ridge of exposed calcite, and the dramatic limestone cliffs of El Aqabat. The oasis also provides access to the Great Sand Sea, one of the largest dune fields in the Sahara.
