Historic Churches & Convents

Angra do Heroísmo, a UNESCO World Heritage site, preserves a dense concentration of religious landmarks reflecting its role as a key Atlantic port. Convento São Francisco

A 16th-century convent housing the Museum of Angra do Heroísmo. Its large church features a high altar with gilded woodcarvings and a spacious cloister reflecting Renaissance and Mannerist architectural styles.
