Glaciers of Aoraki / Mount Cook
Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park contains some of New Zealand's most significant ice formations, including the 27-kilometer-long Tasman Glacier, the country's longest. These glaciers, such as the Hooker and Mueller, originate high in the Southern Alps and feed into prominent proglacial lakes. A tributary glacier of the Tasman Glacier located on the eastern side of the Mount Cook Range. The glacier is a landmark for climbers on the Ball Pass crossing and sits near the historic site of the original Ball Hut.
