Hidden Gems

Banská Štiavnica’s UNESCO-listed landscape is defined by its historic mining infrastructure, particularly the "tajchs" like Počúvadlianske jazero and Jazero Klinger. These 18th-century artificial reservoirs once powered local mines and now serve as serene swimming spots. Within the town, the mining heritage continues at Klopačka Teahouse, situated in a former signal tower. Cultural exploration extends to the eclectic, antique-filled interior of Weird Lady Café and the tucked-away Antikvariatik bookshop on the main square, offering a glimpse into the town's specialized local commerce.
