Carnac Megaliths

The Carnac Megaliths represent one of the world's most significant Neolithic archaeological sites, featuring over 3,000 standing stones erected between 4500 BC and 3300 BC. This prehistoric landscape in Brittany includes the famous alignments of Ménec, Kermario, and Kerlescan, alongside massive burial tumuli and passage graves like Saint-Michel and Kercado. These granite monuments provide essential evidence of the complex social structures and funerary rites of early European civilizations.

Carnac Stones

Carnac is a commune beside the Gulf of Morbihan on the south coast of Brittany in the Morbihan department in north-western France.

The Saint-Michel tumulus is a megalithic grave mound, located east of Carnac in Brittany, France.

Dolmen de Kerlescan

A Neolithic passage grave or "allée couverte" located near the Kerlescan alignments.

Tumulus-dolmen de Kercado

One of the oldest and best-preserved passage graves in the region, dating to approximately 4500 BC. It features a large burial chamber topped by a small menhir.

Tumulus à trois dolmens de Mané-Kérioned

A unique archaeological site featuring three dolmens arranged perpendicular to each other within a single mound. Some of the interior stones feature Neolithic carvings.

Tumulus du Moustoir

A significant Neolithic burial mound measuring 85 meters in length and five meters in height, marked by a menhir at its eastern end.

A large prehistoric burial mound located north of Carnac, notable for the prominent menhir standing at its summit.

A solitary granite standing stone located in the Kerluhir area, typical of the individual menhirs found throughout the Morbihan landscape.
