Best of Erzurum

Three tombs

Known locally as Üç Kümbetler, these monumental funerary structures date back to the 12th and 14th centuries. The largest tomb is attributed to Emir Saltuk, founder of the Saltukid dynasty, and features a distinctive octagonal base and conical roof.

Erzurum Muzesi

This museum houses archaeological artifacts ranging from the Trans-Caucasian culture to the Urartian, Roman, and Byzantine periods. Exhibits include ancient pottery, bronze tools, and ethnographic items reflecting the cultural evolution of the Erzurum region.

Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque

Commissioned in 1562 by the Ottoman general Lala Mustafa Pasha, this mosque is attributed to the imperial architect Mimar Sinan. It was the first Ottoman-era mosque built in Erzurum, characterized by its central dome and classic lead-covered stonework.

Atatürk House

This late 19th-century mansion served as the residence and headquarters for Mustafa Kemal Atatürk during the Erzurum Congress of 1919. It now functions as a museum displaying personal belongings, historical documents, and photographs from the Turkish War of Independence.
