Historic Sites of Gökçeada

Gökçeada preserves a diverse architectural legacy reflecting its Greek and Ottoman history. This collection features medieval ruins such as İskinit and Kastro castles, which served as strategic defense points along the island’s coastline. The list also includes significant religious sites, ranging from historic Greek Orthodox churches in Kaleköy and Dereköy to the traditional Sunni mosques found in the central district and the villages of Uğurlu and Eşelek.
