Natural Wonders of the Danube

The Danube Gorge, where the river carves through the Carpathian and Balkan mountains, contains a high concentration of karst formations and geological sites. Ponicova Cave

The largest cave in the Danube Gorge, featuring 1,660 meters of galleries that tunnel through the Ciucaru Mare massif. The cave is accessible by boat from the Danube or via a land trail.
