Kovalam Essentials

Kovalam’s coastline is defined by three distinct crescent beaches: the bustling Lighthouse Beach, the central Hawa Beach, and the quieter Samudra Beach to the north. At the southern tip stands the 35-meter-tall Vizhinjam Lighthouse, providing panoramic views of the Arabian Sea. Beyond the shore, the 8th-century Vizhinjam Rock Temple contains ancient Hindu carvings, while the Sagarika Marine Research Aquarium displays local aquatic life. This area combines traditional fishing practices with unique geological features like the granite boulders near the southern headland.
