Ljubljana Parks & Squares

Ljubljana’s urban core is defined by the architectural legacy of Jože Plečnik and a series of interconnected pedestrian zones. This collection features the central Prešernov trg with its 17th-century Franciscan Church and the modernist Square of the Republic, the site of Slovenia’s 1991 independence declaration. It spans medieval landmarks like the Town and Old Squares, the pillar-lined Cobblers' Bridge, and the University Botanical Garden, which has been in operation since 1810 and houses over 4,500 plant species.
