Heritage Sites

Luzon’s heritage sites span ancient indigenous engineering and Spanish colonial architecture. The collection features the 2,000-year-old Ifugao rice terraces of Batad and the Cordilleras, alongside the traditional Igorot hanging coffins in Sagada. Architectural highlights include UNESCO-listed Baroque churches like the earthquake-proof Paoay Church and the all-steel San Sebastian Basilica. Historical landmarks range from the ruins of Cagsawa, shadowed by Mayon Volcano, to the Aguinaldo Shrine in Cavite. The list also includes Palawan’s Puerto Princesa Subterranean River, a karst landscape and navigable underground waterway.
