New Hampshire Nature & Parks

This collection spans New Hampshire's varied topography, from the Atlantic coastline at Fort Foster to the high peaks of the White Mountains. It features glacial landmarks like the former site of the Old Man of the Mountain and Cannon Mountain's 4,080-foot summit. The selection includes several stops along the scenic Kancamagus Highway, such as Rocky Gorge and Sabbaday Falls, alongside remote northern waters like Success Pond and the protected sanctuary of Willard Pond.

Rocky Gorge Scenic Area

A 10-foot waterfall on the Swift River where water has carved a narrow cleft through solid granite. A footbridge provides views of the gorge and the upstream Falls Pond.

Fort Foster Park

Located on Gerrish Island, this former military site contains three historic coastal defense batteries built between 1898 and 1944. It offers views of Whaleback Lighthouse and Portsmouth Harbor.

Sabbaday Waterfall

A three-tier waterfall featuring a 45-foot total drop into a pothole worn into the rock. A gravel path and wooden stairs lead to views of the falls and the narrow flume.

Mount Osceola

A 4,340-foot peak in the Sandwich Range. The summit provides panoramic views of the Waterville Valley and the surrounding White Mountain National Forest.

Old Man of the Mountain

The former site of a series of five granite cliff ledges on Cannon Mountain that resembled a human profile. The iconic formation collapsed in May 2003.
