Nature and Archaeology

Sochi National Park encompasses a diverse landscape of the Western Caucasus, ranging from subtropical coasts to alpine peaks. This collection features the Vorontsovskaya and Akhshtyrskaya cave systems, which preserve evidence of Paleolithic settlements and extinct fauna. The region's hydrological significance is showcased through the 33 Waterfalls of the Shakhe River and the mineral springs of Chvizhepse. Visitors can explore medieval ruins from the 9th century and the legendary Eagle Rock, traditionally linked to the myth of Prometheus.

Mount Akhun

Standing at 663 meters above sea level, this peak features a 30-meter Romanesque-style observation tower built in 1936. It provides panoramic views of the Greater Caucasus range and the Black Sea coast.

Overlooking the river and its waterfalls, this limestone rock is entangled with legends, even with the legend of Prometheus.

Orekhovskiy

The Orekhovsky is a waterfall in the Sochi National Park. It takes its name from Orekhovka, a settlement in the Khosta District of Sochi.

Ruins of a medieval Byzantine-style defensive structure and religious site dating back to the 9th or 10th century. The site reflects the historical influence of the Abkhazian Kingdom in the region.

Enjoy a short hike along this brook and admire its numerous small waterfalls. A beautiful, tranquil place.

Devici Slezy

A delicate waterfall where water trickles down a wide, moss-covered limestone rock face. Located along the road to Krasnaya Polyana, it is a significant site in local Caucasian folklore.

Situated within the Svirskoye Gorge, this site is part of a scenic trail that includes natural rock basins and a prehistoric megalithic dolmen.
