Nationalpark Thy Essentials

Nationalpark Thy, Denmark's first national park, spans 244 square kilometers of wind-swept wilderness along the Jutland coast. This selection features maritime landmarks like the 60-meter Hanstholm Lighthouse and the granite Lodbjerg Fyr. Explore the unique fishing culture at Vorupør, where boats are still winched onto the sand, or visit WWII history at the Hanstholm I battery. Hanstholm Lighthouse

Adjacent to an important port, it holds Denmark's most powerful lighthouse lamp. 60 meters high - a great vantage point.

Lodbjerg fyr

Built in 1883 from granite blocks, this 35-meter-high lighthouse offers panoramic views of the North Sea and surrounding dune heath.

Vorupør Strand

A historic landing site where fishing boats are still hauled onto the sand. It features Denmark’s first sea bath, providing a protected swimming area.

Vorupør Mole

This 310-meter-long pier protects the local fishing landing site and provides a walkway extending deep into the North Sea.

Agger Tange

Agger Tange is a peninsula located between the Limfjord and the North Sea.

View Point

A rugged beach marked by heavy stone groynes, located at the southern end of the park between the sea and the Agger Tange lagoons.

Isbjerg

The highest point in the Hanstholm Wildlife Reserve at 56 meters, offering views over the vast, untouched dune heath and local lakes.

Nordsø Akvariet

Housed in a former ice house, this aquarium displays North Sea fish species and includes a touch pool for closer interaction with marine life.

Friluftsmuseet Batteri "Hanstholm I"
