Religious Heritage of Tirana
Tirana’s religious architecture reflects a history of coexistence and post-communist revival. The city features the 18th-century Et'hem Bey Mosque, known for its rare nature-themed frescoes, alongside the modern Resurrection of Christ Orthodox Cathedral and Saint Paul's Catholic Cathedral. B Ngjallja e Krishtit
Completed in 2012, this modern Orthodox cathedral is one of the largest in the Balkans. It features a 46-meter-high bell tower and a large dome decorated with mosaics.
C Saint Paul's Cathedral
This Catholic cathedral, completed in 2002, features modern architecture and stained-glass windows depicting Mother Teresa and Pope John Paul II. A statue of Mother Teresa stands at the entrance.
D Xhamia e Namasgjasë
Also known as the Great Mosque of Tirana, this Ottoman-style structure is the largest mosque in the Balkans. It features four 50-meter-high minarets and a central dome.
The World Headquarters of the Bektashi Order
The spiritual center of the Bektashi Sufi order, featuring a museum and a large tekke with colorful marble mosaics and traditional Ottoman-influenced architecture.
Kisha Shën Prokopit
An Orthodox church located near the Grand Park. The original 18th-century structure was destroyed in 1967 during the state's atheist campaign and later rebuilt as a modest place of worship.
