Religious Heritage of Tirana

Tirana’s religious architecture reflects a history of coexistence and post-communist revival. The city features the 18th-century Et'hem Bey Mosque, known for its rare nature-themed frescoes, alongside the modern Resurrection of Christ Orthodox Cathedral and Saint Paul's Catholic Cathedral. Significant newer additions include the Great Mosque of Tirana, the largest in the Balkans, and the World Headquarters of the Bektashi Order, a unique Sufi center featuring a museum and intricate marble mosaics.

Xhamia e Namasgjasë

Also known as the Great Mosque of Tirana, this Ottoman-style structure is the largest mosque in the Balkans. It features four 50-meter-high minarets and a central dome.

The spiritual center of the Bektashi Sufi order, featuring a museum and a large tekke with colorful marble mosaics and traditional Ottoman-influenced architecture.

Kisha Shën Prokopit

An Orthodox church located near the Grand Park. The original 18th-century structure was destroyed in 1967 during the state's atheist campaign and later rebuilt as a modest place of worship.
