Beyond the stone-paved alleys, Venice offers diverse green spaces ranging from Napoleon’s expansive Giardini della Biennale—the city's primary art exhibition site—to the restored neoclassical pavilions of the Royal Gardens near St. Mark's Square. The Cannaregio district hides the palace-adjacent Savorgnan Gardens and the lagoon-side Parco Villa Groggia. For maritime views and history, the island of Sant’Elena features 11th-century cloisters, while the neighboring Remembrance Park serves as a WWII memorial with family playgrounds. The Armenian Mekhitarist Monastery provides a secluded garden retreat on its own historic island.

B Papadopoli Gardens
The Greek name of this garden comes from the convent which stood here. Its trees, benches and fountains make for a pleasant rest.

This huge park was established by Napoleon Bonaparte and serves as an exhibition space.
D Groggia Gardens
This nice little park close to the Venetian lagoon is a favorite place for the locals. Come here to rest under the trees.
E Savorgnan Gardens
Surrounding the Savorgnan Palace, these gardens are a green oasis of the Cannaregio district.
F Mekhitarist Monastery of Venice
Originally, the island was used as a leper colony where the ill were kept so the disease would not spread.
