Wieliczka Essentials

Wieliczka is centered around its UNESCO-listed salt mine, featuring underground chapels and saline lakes. The town's history as a salt-mining hub is preserved at the Żupny Castle, the former seat of the mine administration. Above ground, the historic center includes the 16th-century wooden Church of St. Sebastian and the Baroque Franciscan Monastery. Visitors can experience the therapeutic benefits of the brine graduation tower or explore the industrial heritage through the TKp-2316 steam locomotive and the surrounding Kinga Park.
