Xàtiva Essentials

Xàtiva, the birthplace of Popes Calixtus III and Alexander VI, is defined by its strategic twin fortress spanning the Sierra del Castell. Historic twin fortress and National Monument featuring Iberian and Roman foundations with later Valencian Gothic expansions. The defensive stronghold is divided into two sections, the older Castell Menor and the medieval Castell Major, situated 310 meters above the landscape.
