Archaeological Sites in Durrës

Durrës preserves a dense concentration of Roman and Byzantine heritage, reflecting its status as a major Adriatic port. This list centers on the 2nd-century Roman Amphitheatre, the largest in the Balkans, which uniquely houses a medieval chapel with rare mosaics.
