Alpine Huts & Mountain Shelters
This collection features traditional mountain shelters and alpine huts situated across the Dachstein massif near Ramsau. Ranging from the Austriahütte at 1,638 meters to the high-altitude Guttenberghaus at 2,146 meters, these destinations serve as critical rest stops for hikers. Most huts offer regional Styrian cuisine, and several provide overnight accommodations with facilities like showers and Wi-fi. Many are positioned along key hiking trails, such as those leading to the Dachstein south face or through the Silberkar Gorge.
A Austriahütte
Managed by the Austrian Alpine Club (ÖAV) at 1,638 meters, this hut features an on-site restaurant serving regional cuisine and offers amenities including Wi-fi and showers for overnight guests.
B Silberkarhütte
A mountain hut and restaurant situated at the end of the Silberkar Gorge, specializing in regional Styrian dishes.
C Guttenberghaus
At 2,146 meters, this is the highest mountain hut in Styria. Operated by the ÖAV, it serves as a base for high-alpine tours and via ferratas.
