Snæfellsnes Unmissables
Snæfellsnes features the 700,000-year-old Snæfellsjökull glacier-capped volcano, famously cited in Jules Verne’s 'Journey to the Center of the Earth'. The peninsula contains a high concentration of Iceland’s geological hallmarks, including the hexagonal basalt columns of Gerðuberg, the twin volcanic plugs of Lóndrangar, and the symmetrical Kirkjufell mountain.
