Historic Churches of Trnava

Trnava, often called 'Little Rome,' features a dense concentration of Gothic and Baroque religious architecture. This collection includes the 14th-century St. Nicolas Basilica, built at a historic trade crossroads, and the St. John the Baptist Cathedral, a major landmark of western Slovakia. Other notable sites include the Gothic Church of St. Helen and the Franciscan Church of St. James with its baroque monastery complex.
