Meknes Essentials

Meknes, one of Morocco's four Imperial cities, flourished under Sultan Moulay Ismail in the 17th century. This UNESCO World Heritage site is defined by its massive defensive walls and monumental gates, most notably the intricate Bab Mansour. The city's architectural legacy includes the expansive Heri es-Souani royal stables, the tilework of the Bou Inania Madrasa, and the vast Agdal reservoir.
