Castles and Forts of Namur

This collection highlights Namur’s military and noble architecture: the hilltop Citadel overseeing the Sambre–Meuse confluence, a ring of nine late-19th-century Brialmont forts built for Belgium’s national defence, and several local châteaux and civic monuments. Entries include fortified artillery works, medieval and post-medieval manor houses, ecclesiastical buildings with Baroque and Romanesque elements, and civic structures adapted over centuries for administrative or cultural use.

Historic Churches and Shrines

This collection highlights Namur's religious sites: the Late Baroque St. Aubin's Cathedral, Romanesque and Baroque parish churches across city neighborhoods and nearby villages, a 13th‑century Cistercian abbey, several monastic houses, and numerous small Catholic shrines and grottoes. Together they reflect the city's ecclesiastical architecture from medieval to 17th–18th century styles and include both Roman Catholic and Orthodox places of worship.

Cliffs, Caves & Climbing

This collection groups the notable cliffs, rock outcrops and established climbing sectors around Marche‑les‑Dames and Beez near Namur. Entries include exposed limestone escarpments, bolted climbing lines and mapped cliff faces offering fixed routes, distinct cliff names and concentrated climbing areas clustered along the Meuse valley.
