Best Beaches and Viewpoints in Mġarr

Mġarr’s western coastline offers a distinct landscape of sandy bays, clay slopes, and limestone cliffs. This selection covers the major sandy beaches of Golden Bay and Għajn Tuffieħa, alongside the more remote pebble shores of Fomm ir-Riħ. The list also includes elevated vantage points along the Victoria Lines, a 19th-century British defensive wall that provides panoramic views across the rural northern plains and the Mediterranean Sea.

Ġnejna Bay

Ġnejna Bay is a popular tourist destination located about 1 kilometer from the village of Mġarr on the western coast of Malta.

Riviera Beach

Also known as Għajn Tuffieħa, this bay features reddish sand and is reached by a flight of approximately 200 stone steps. It is bordered by natural clay slopes and the Qarraba headland.

Golden Bay

A wide sandy beach on the northwest coast known for its accessible terrain and sunset views. It is situated between rugged headlands and offers more amenities than the neighboring bays.

Fomm ir-Riħ
