Stepanavan's Essential Journey

Stepanavan serves as a central hub for exploring the medieval heritage of Armenia's Lori Province. This collection features the 11th-century Lori Fortress, once the capital of the Tashir-Dzoraget Kingdom, and the 6th-century St. George Church in Sverdlov. Natural highlights include the Sochut Dendropark, Armenia’s first botanical garden founded in 1933, and the Hnevank Monastery complex overlooking the Dzoraget River. The town itself preserves its history through the house-museum and monument dedicated to revolutionary Stepan Shaumyan.
